Paranormal Activity director to take us to Area 51

Oren Peli's next film, Area 51, is now heading to studio and landing in theatres sometime in 2010, reports Variety.

"The film employs the "found footage" narrative structure that Peli used in "Paranormal Activity" to tell the story of three teens whose curiosity leads them to the notorious Area 51 portion of Nellis Air Force Base in the Nevada desert."

Written, directed and produced by the same team that put out the sleeper hit Paranormal Activity (except this time with a much larger budget thanks to the success of their first film), Area 51 was bid on by 4 other studios before Paramount Pictures secured the distribution rights to it.

The special effects they managed in PA with such a low budget wowed me, and now they've got substantially more money to pull off their next spectacle? Simply said: I cannot wait.
