Sam Raimi pulling a Peter Jackson, Plus Awesome Low Budget Short

Just as Peter Jackson did with the then unknown director of District 9, Neill Blomkamp, Sam Raimi is playing big brother with Uruguayan commercial director, Fede Alvarez, to produce an alien invasion film based off his short Ataque de Panico! (Panic Attack). This will be Alvarez's first feature film.

Thanks to the short film above which reportedly cost only $300 to produce, Ghost House Pictures has made a seven-figure deal with Alvarez to expand upon its idea for the big screen, writes VarietyWill Sam Raimi's involvement make sure it's a success? Time will tell.

P.S. I love the 28 Days Later music used in it.
